Thorburns were the structural engineers for the Arena Apartments in Parnell. With 3 levels basement car parking top down construction was incorporated in the structure to allow the for the 12m excavation below the street and neighbouring buildings. Above street level three separate structures extend above the podium slab providing apartment, office and retail space. The suspended concrete pool hangs 4m above the podium with acrylic window at the end.
