In 2021 Thorburns have completed the design for a new refurbishment works for a new car brand which is under construction.
Located within the busy Greenwoods Corner this new development has 3 retail units and 2 apartments above. It was designed in keeping with the local architecture maintaining the existing timber framed gable façade and adding a modern feel with glass and feature wood grained concrete panels. Supporting the large precast panels over the shop front glazing gives a feeling of suspension to the structure. Suspending the rear carpark and smaller retail building also allowed the site to be fully developed above the council overland flow path
Since 2012 Thorburns has been working with Mitre 10 as their lead consultants. We have worked on over 40 projects including new stores and alterations to the existing stores.
Thorburns provides drawings for Resource Consent, coordinating the site plans, building layout and elevations with Mitre 10 and other consultants. We complete detailed design for Building Consent and Tender coordinating design elements with the geotechnical, fire and mechanical engineers and prepare and lodge the Building Consents applications.
