Graduating from Canterbury University in 1992 with an Honours degree in Structural Engineering, Tanya worked in Auckland and London before joining the company in 2000.
She became a director of Thorburn Consultants (NZ) Ltd in 2004. Working with the company’s existing client base and developing new clients, she celebrated 20 years as a company director in 2024.
With over 37 years in the industry, Tanya’s experience covers large commercial, retail and industrial building, apartments, power and water utility building, office building, swimming pools, recreation and park structures.
With sadness we acknowledge the passing of Roger Thorburn.
In 1973 Roger was well established in the design and construction of hydropower stations and became a founding Director of Hansen Thorburn Davidson.
Roger went onto being the sole director of Thorburn Consultants Ltd continuing work on geothermal and building design.
Colleges describe him as an industry legend, true gentleman, top bloke, a problem solver, a man that had a broad view and a can do attitude, a lovely man, a great engineer.
He was a supportive and encouraging boss and over the past 26 years I worked with Roger he was so much more than that to me and all the staff at Thorburns.
